Indian Society of Artificial Intelligence and Law and CCLR-ICFAI Establish Knowledge Partnership for AIStandard.io Alliance

LUCKNOW, INDIA, May 27, 2026 The Indian Society of Artificial Intelligence and Law (ISAIL) and CCLR-ICFAI have established a formal Knowledge Partnership to advance the AIStandard.io Alliance.

Formalized under Schedule 6 of the AiStandard.io Alliance Charter (Ai-AC), this principal-to-principal collaboration merges the distinct organizational strengths of both institutions to build structured frameworks for artificial intelligence.

The alliance aligns ISAIL's standardization objectives directly with the academic and research capabilities of CCLR-ICFAI, led by Assistant Professor Divesh Chauhan. Drawing on Chauhan's expertise in technology law and AI regulation, the institutions will work jointly across four primary domains: AI and cybersecurity governance, AI and data governance, AI skill education, and legal technology adoption.

By combining resources on an equal footing, ISAIL and CCLR-ICFAI will co-develop governance, economic, and ethical standards for the AI industry. The inclusion of Chauhan's research network will facilitate direct expert contributions to joint policy initiatives.

To provide supplementary data and policy analysis for these shared initiatives, Indic Pacific Legal Research (IPLR) has also entered into a Memorandum of Understanding as a research collaborator.

This partnership solidifies a mutual commitment between ISAIL and CCLR-ICFAI to build actionable legal and technical standards for the artificial intelligence sector.

The Indian Society of Artificial Intelligence and Law is an artificial intelligence industry forum, founded by Abhivardhan in 2018. Our mission as a not-for-profit industry forum for the analytics & AI industry in India is to promote responsible development of artificial intelligence and its standardisation in India.

Since 2022, the research operations of the Society have been subsumed under VLiGTA® by Indic Pacific Legal Research.

ISAIL has supported two independent journals, namely - the Indic Journal of International Law and the Indian Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Law. It also supports an independent media and community initiative - The Bharat Pacific.

ISAIL’s India-centric AI policy documentations, community-centric initiatives, and contributions to AI standardisation in India have been acknowledged by the Council of Europe, quite recently.
