About the Academic Member
Mohd Rameez Raza teaches Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) Law and Health Law, integrating doctrinal analysis with practical regulatory and policy challenges. His research examines the evolving intersections of law and technology, with a particular focus on AI governance, platform regulation, digital public infrastructure, and the broader implications of emerging technologies on rights and regulatory systems.
Rameez is a recipient of five fellowships and brings interdisciplinary experience across academia, think tanks, non-profits, and legal practice. Before entering academia, he worked across dispute resolution, in-house advisory, and policy research roles. This diverse exposure informs his approach to teaching and research, enabling him to bridge legal theory with real-world regulatory and institutional challenges.
His work engages with digital privacy, public health regulation, constitutional law, and civil liberties, and has appeared on platforms including SCC Online, the Oxford Human Rights Hub, The Wire, JURIST, University of Pittsburgh, and peer-reviewed indexed journals. He actively advocates for data privacy, health equity, and rights-based approaches to emerging technologies, and is particularly interested in developing regulatory models that balance innovation with rights.
Beyond academia, Rameez is a trained theatre artist practising the ‘theatre of the oppressed’ art form with various groups to promote social awareness and engagement. In his personal time, he enjoys racquet sports and reading, while poetry continues to shape and inspire his intellectual and creative pursuits.
