Junak's academic and research interests lie at the intersection of AI Governance, AI Policy, Technology Law, AI Ethics, Data Governance, Intellectual Property Law, Cyber Law, Copyright and IP frameworks for AI-generated content, the Geopolitics of AI, AI bias in governmental and employment-related decision-making, and international governance mechanisms for AI. With a legal background and current postgraduate study in Political Science, he is particularly interested in understanding the legal, regulatory, institutional, and geopolitical dimensions of emerging technologies. His research focuses on responsible AI governance, IPR, algorithmic accountability, data protection, AI ethics, and the interaction between technological developments and legal frameworks. He has undertaken research and academic writing on AI governance and related contemporary legal issues and seeks to contribute to interdisciplinary discussions on technology regulation and public policy, particularly from perspectives relevant to the Indian subcontinent and the Global South.
