Course Content
Interdisciplinary Knowledge: Courses & training programmes  should integrate policy and legal knowledge, focusing on the intersection of policy and law depending on the subject-matter duly addressed. For example, for AI & Law-related training programmes and courses, this includes understanding AI technologies, their legal implications, data protection, intellectual property rights, and ethical considerations.
Practical Skills: Training should emphasise practical skills. Case studies and simulations should be used to demonstrate real-world applications and / or instances wherever possible. In case any real-world instances may not be depicted, the case studies and simulations must show thorough hypothetical illustrations.Â
Regulatory Framework: A thorough understanding of the Indian legal system and its approach to any policy domain, including current regulations, case law, and policy debates, should be a core component.
Global Standards and Local Relevance: While aligning with global standards for law & any policy domain, the content should be tailored to the Indian context, with examples and scenarios relevant to Indian legal practice.

Duration
Flexible Learning Paths: Programme and course providers must offer a range of course durations, from intensive workshops to extended programs, to cater to different learning needs and schedules.Â
Modular Structure: Programme and course providers must design courses in a modular fashion, allowing for both comprehensive learning and targeted skill development. If recorded lectures are not offered, then it is recommended to offer doubt-clearing sessions.
Continuing Education: Programme and course providers must include options for ongoing learning to keep pace with the rapidly evolving field of AI and law wherever possible.

Certification Process
Assessment: Programme and course providers must implement rigorous assessments, including exams, practical projects or model exercises, and peer reviews or mentorship sessions (optionally), to evaluate understanding and application of knowledge.
Renewal: Programme and course providers must ensure periodic renewal of certification, contingent on continued education and adherence to updated standards.

Membership Advantages: Programme and course providers may provide optional benefits such as discounts or early access to members of ISAIL, encouraging professional development within the society.
Non-Discrimination: Programme and course providers must adhere to a non-discrimination policy, ensuring equal opportunities for all applicant regardless of background.

Instructor Qualifications: Instructors must have both subject matter expertise and effective teaching skills, with regular evaluations to maintain teaching quality.

Terms and Conditions: Programme and course providers must ensure that they provide their websites' terms & conditions and relevant notices and privacy policies, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in a transparent and explainable manner.

Certification Procedure
Step 1: Initial Request
Send email to executive@isail.co.in
Subject line must be "Request for ISAIL.IN1 Certification"
Step 2: Form Submission
Fill out the form provided by ISAIL Secretariat after initial email
Step 3: Website Review
ISAIL Secretariat reviews course/programme details on applicant's website
Review period: Approximately 1-3 weeks
Step 4: Certification Fee
If approved:
Indian Organisations: ₹20,000 + GST per course/programme
International Organisations: $300 + GST per course/programme
Fee exemptions possible for certain Indian organisations
Step 5: Compliance Period
Must respond to any compliance notices within 3-8 weeks
Timeline varies based on notice content
Failure to address issues may result in:
Non-renewal of certificate
Cancellation of certificate
Step 6: Renewal
Certificate valid for one year
Annual renewal required
Renewal fee is 10% of original certification fee (including GST).
Note: Fee is non-refundable and only paid after initial approval by the Secretariat.
